Remembering Ronald M. Miniat, Chairman Emeritus
With great sadness we announce the passing of our Chairman Emeritus, Ronald M. Miniat, who shaped the Miniat Family of Companies with his leadership, love, and laughter.
After graduating from St. Joseph's College and serving in the U.S. Army, Ron joined the family business in the early 1950s, working along-side his brother, Eddie, and his dad, Ed, Sr. back when the business consisted of peddling meat to the local butchers. More than 60 years later, the business is what we know it to be today--thriving in its fifth generation, with two operating divisions, over 900 employees, and a customer list that boasts some of the most recognized brands in the world.
My father’s legacy of leadership, integrity, and genuine care for others is the foundation for our mantra, Driven to Serve.
He set an example for many generations to come, never wavering in his dedication to the business. While his service to customers and loyalty to our suppliers is well-known, Ron would want Team Miniat to know of his genuine appreciation and love for the employees who make up the extended Miniat family.
The dedication of our employees has been invaluable to the success of this business. I truly appreciate each of the individuals who worked tirelessly to ensure the continued operation and growth of The Miniat Companies.
May his legacy, leadership, and values remain alive in each of us.
A viewing will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018 at Old St. Patrick's Church in Chicago, Illinois. A private family interment will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to benefit an organization long-revered by the Miniat Family: Misericordia Heart of Mercy, Attn: Sister Rosemary Connelly, 6300 North Ridge Ave., Chicago, IL 60660.
